EN// If you follow me on Instagram, I am sure you know that we LOVE to brunch. And I can tell you in Porto there are a lot of options for a good brunch. I will tell you everything you need to know about my favorite places and of course I will show you some pictures that will make you book a trip to Porto right away, haha! So here is my selection of best brunch in Porto:
DE// Wenn ihr mir auf Instagram folgt, dann wisst ihr bestimmt, dass wir es einfach lieben zu brunchen. Und ich kann euch sagen, in Porto gibt es eine Menge tolle Möglichkeiten das zu tun 😉 Ich stelle euch hier meine Lieblings Cafés vor und sage euch alles, was es zu wissen gibt. Und natürlich zeige ich euch auch ein paar Fotos, die euch das Wasser im Mund zusammenlaufen lassen werden. Best Brunch in Porto:
ZENITH – BRUNCH & COCKTAILS
Opening hours: 9am-7pm every day
EN// One of the most hyped Brunch places in Porto, that’s for sure. That’s why you should get there early if you don’t want to wait in line, especially on the weekend. Or you just go to NORTE SHOPPING, where just recently opened another Zenith and eat there. It’s not that crowded!
What to order: You have to try the Eggs Zenith. Just so good! In fact all the savory dishes are really really good. The sweet things are good to, but I have to admit that the pancakes are not my favorite. Not because of the toppings, but because of the consistency of the pancake. They are a bit dry I think. (I would rather opt for the French toast 😉 ) But other than that, you can’t go wrong with whatever you order!
DE// Das meist gehypte Brunch Lokal in Porto ist mit Sicherheit das Zenith. Deswegen solltet ihr früh dran sein, wenn ihr nicht in der Schlange anstehen wollt, vor allem an Wochenenden. Oder ihr geht einfach ins Norte Shopping. Da hat nämlich erst kürzlich eine andere Zenith Filiale aufgemacht und ich hab das Gefühl es wissen noch nicht so viele Leute davon, haha.
Was bestellen? Ich würde euch auf jeden Fall raten das Eggs Zenith zu bestellen, wenn ihr auf Herzhaftes steht. Sonst sind die Eggs Benedict auch sehr gut und die Bagel ebenso. Die süßen Gerichte sind auch sehr lecker. Allerdings sind die Pancakes nicht 100%ig meins, da ich sie ein bisschen zu trocken finde. Da würde ich euch eher den French Toast ans Herz legen 😉 Aber in großen und ganzen könnt ihr nichts falsch machen, was auch immer ihr bestellt!
NICOLAU
Opening hours: 9am -10 pm every day
EN// Recently my absolute favorite. In my opinion better than Zenith (ups there I said it). Great coffee, juices, cool location and amazing food (also great for lunch). And it’s not that crowded.
What to order: Everything I had there was just really good. Make sure to read everything that’s on the menu. I feel like it’s a bit confusing. Try the sweet potato rösti and the Pancakes Nicolau. Oh and the French Toast is great too (not that easy to find on the menu though 😉
DE// In letzter Zeit ist das Nicolau mein absoluter Favorit. Da is wirklich für jeden was dabei und das Menü ist sehr umfangreich, wenn auch etwas chaotisch. Ihr müsst also wirklich gut lesen und jede Zeile anschauen, haha. Die Location ist auch mega cool und alles is sehr “instagrammable” 😉
Was bestellen? Alles was ich bis jetzt dort probiert habe, war wirklich ausgesprochen gut. Ich würde euch raten das Süßkartoffel Rösti zu bestellen (wenn ihr es auf der Karte findet) und als Nachspeise die Pancakes Nicolau oder den French Toast 😉
CAMELIA BRUNCH GARDEN
Opening hours: Tuesday-Friday 9am-7pm; Saturday and Sunday 9am-8pm
EN// This location is a dream come true for every flower and bright colors loving Instagrammer 😉 It even has a cute flower “wall”, neon sign set up. And on plus the food is really good and it’s located next to the Douro River so it’s also amazing for a little walk afterwards.
What to order: Maybe it sounds a little bit weird but the Panquecas salgadas are so amazing. It’s pancakes with bacon, a sunny side egg and maple syrup. Yum! Actually all the pancakes are really nice and I love their scones too!
DE// Die Location ist der Traum eines jeden Instagrammers der auf Blumen und helle bunte Farben steht. Es gibt sogar ein Foto Set Up mit Blumen die von der Decke hängen und einem Neon Schild. Außerdem ist das Essen wirklich super gut und das Café liegt direkt am Douro Fluss. Perfekt für einen Verdauungsspaziergang nach dem Essen!
Was bestellen? Klingt vielleicht ungewöhnlich, aber die Panquecas Salgadas (salzige Pancakes) sind einfach mega gut. Das sind Pancakes mit Bacon und einem Spiegel Ei drauf mit Ahornsirup. Lecker! Eigentlich sind alle Pancakes dort ziemlich gut. Ach und die Scones mag ich auch sehr gerne!
GARDEN PORTO CAFÈ
Opening hours: 9am-8pm every day
EN// I wasn’t 100% sure if I want to include the Garden Porto in my Best Brunch in Porto selection. Just because I feel like it depends a bit on what you order. But since there are still a lot of yummy things on the menu I decided to include it! The location is super nice. A lot of green flowers and cool interior and it’s located very close to Dos Aliados and to the Metro station of Trindade.
What to order: The savory stuff I tried was very good. Especially the savory pancakes (like in Camelia Brunch garden). These are my favorite. But also the Eggs Benedict are really nice. The things I didn’t like that much were the waffles because the consistency was very hard and not fluffy at all. And I didn’t like the pumpkin pancake. But maybe that’s just me 😉
DE// Ich war mir nicht ganz sicher ob ich das Garden Porto in meine Liste der besten Brunches miteinbeziehen soll. Ich habe nämlich das Gefühl, dass es ein bisschen darauf ankommt, was man bestellt, ob es einem gefällt oder nicht. Aber da es mit ein paar kleinen Ausnahmen wirklich leckere Sachen auch gibt, dachte ich mir ich zeige es euch trotzdem. Die Location ist nämlich auch echt cool und es ist gut zu erreichen.
Was bestellen? Die herzhaften Sachen, die ich im Garden gegessen habe, haben mir echt richtig gut geschmeckt. Vor allem die American Pancakes, die wieder wie im Camelia mit Bacon, Ei, Ahornsirup (und einer Portwein Reduktion, die man aber nicht schlecht) angerichtet sind. Die Eggs Benedict sind auch sehr gut und der Avocado Toast ist auch ok. Das was mir persönlich nicht so geschmeckt hat waren die Waffeln, da sie ziemlich hart waren. Und auch der Kürbis Pancake war so gar nicht meins. Aber vielleicht ist das auch nur meine persönliche Meinung und euch schmeckt es!
DO NORTE CAFE by HUNGRY BIKER
Opening hours: 9am-4pm every day
EN// I visited the Do Norte Cafe only one time (definitely not the last though) but I still decided to show you this place because it’s one of a kind. The location is just so cozy, with a fire place and a conservatory where you can sit on a rainy day and enjoy your tea or coffee. really really nice. Especially when it’s cold outside!
What to order: I haven’t had the chance to try a lot of stuff yet. But I ordered the Coconut Rice Pudding with Mango and it was amazing. And the portion was really big! I will be back soon 😉
DE// Im Do Norte war ich bis jetzt nur einmal. Aber diese Location ist so einzigartig, dass ich sie euch einfach zeigen muss. Sie ist ganz rustikal eingerichtet, mit einem Kamin und einem wunderschönen Wintergarten wo man den Regen auf das Glas prasseln sehen kann und seinen Tee oder Kaffee genießen. So gemütlich. Vor allem an kälteren Tagen!
Was bestellen? Da ich bis jetzt nur einmal dort war, habe ich noch nicht so viel getestet. Ich habe den Kokosnuss Milchreis mit mango gegessen und ich muss euch sagen, er war wirklich unfassbar lecker. Genau mein Ding 😉 Außerdem war die Portion echt riesengroß!
VOGUE CAFÉ PORTO
EN// Last but not least I have to tell you about the brunch at Vogue Café Porto. It takes place at weekends and public holidays and starts at 12:00. The food is jus so good and not expensive at all. But be careful the drinks are on the pricier side! A good thing is, that unlike in other brunch places in Porto you can make a reservation, even online (great for people that hate to call someone like me, haha)! The location is so photogenic and every fashion girls dream come true. I even posted an article about this place. Click HERE to check it out!
What to order: We ordered the Eggs Benedict and the Red Fruit pancakes and both was very very good. But everything on the menu sounds very delicious, so just try it out.
DE// Zu guter Letzt kann ich euch den Brunch im Vogue Café nicht vorenthalten. Es ist ein a la Carte Brunch der aber nur an Wochenenden und Feiertagen statt findet und beginnt um 12 Uhr. Das Essen schmeckt wirklich sehr gut und ist auch nicht sehr teuer. Aber Achtung, die Getränke sind für Porto Verhältnisse recht teuer. Ein Vorteil ist auch, dass man reservieren kann, sogar online für alle Leute wie mich, die es hassen wo anzurufen 😉 Die Location is der wahr gewordene Traum eines jeden Fashion-Girls und sehr “instagrammable”. Was bestellen? Wir haben das letzte Mal die Eggs Benedict und die Red Fruit Pancakes bestellt und beides war mega gut. Aber einfach alles auf der Karte klingt sehr lecker. Probiert euch einfach durch!
